Sweet Dreams has become my favourite outing.
Five pitches, four at or below grade 14 and one final pitch at around grade 17.
Spectacular views and a good move on the first pitch, slow and easy on the traverse and nice
climbing on the last pitch.
We got caught up behind several other groups on this day, but that didn't seem to matter.
I had a great time watching the others,
and really enjoyed my leads.
As there were three of us, we kind of juggled the leads around to suit the stances and the potential
bottlenecks. Nick took the first pitch. Mat took the second.
I led the traverse, and then Nick also led it, while I snapped away at the view,
parking himself above me at the chain.
Mat took pitch four to the big ledge and I tackled the fifth and final pitch
(feeling just a little run out by the time I got to the tree!).
Barry and I have tried the three (or four) pitch direct route but missed our way on the first pitch.
With the benefit of hindsight (and a 60m rope) I think we can pull this one off ...
Just need to tighten that sphincter a little more !
